This is a great question! An extension to this question would be, how do you handle 'super groups'.

Even though I try to mix students ability, one group seems to get all superstars and be done so much faster than the other groups with both tRAT and application exercises.

How do you handle groups like this?

Many thanks,

Scott

Subject: what students can do while other are finishing a quiz / RAT

I give RATS (readiness assessment tests) in TBL. Some individuals and groups are faster than others--- and they thus just sit around, bored, waiting others. They want to use cell phones , etc. but I do not permit.

Any suggestions on how they can fill this time?

Thanks in advance.
