I announce something like, "I've been notified by disability services that
one or two class members (out of 80 or so) may need extra time for the
individual RATs. I'll be here about 15 or 20 minutes early and ANYONE who
thinks they would like a bit more time can come in and start the test
early. That applies even if you don't have a note from disability
services." Over the years I've only had a handful of students who took me
up on the offer. Ironically, the one student who probably benefitted
(herself and her team) the very most did not have disability services
approval for extra test taking time. She was really slow on her first RAT,
realized that it made things more difficult for her team and chose to come
early so it wouldn't happen again.
