The Arkansas Colleges of Health Education is currently in the process of developing a new Osteopathic Medical College which will be known as the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM), located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Applications are invited for the following full-time Department Chair positions:

Department of Anatomical Sciences
Department of Physiology, Pathology and Pharmacology

The College’s mission is to educate and train compassionate osteopathic physicians, skilled in the science of patient-centered osteopathic medical care, dedicated to the ethical and social principles of the osteopathic profession, committed to lifelong learning, and focused on service to the underserved.  The College plans to implement an innovative curriculum which will be a combination of lecture, Team-based (TBL) and interactive learning, using an integrative systems approach.
   
Qualifications for Chair:
Terminal degree (PhD, DO or MD) in specialty field of study.  Three years (five years preferred) academic experience as a full time faculty member at a College of Osteopathic Medicine, College of Allopathic Medicine or College of Health or Allied Sciences. Previous experience as a Department chair, assistant chair or course coordinator, and in the development of curriculum for specialty area and teaching courses to medical and/or allied health students. Experience with integrative, team-based learning approaches to teaching is preferred. Documented ability to provide leadership, productivity and administrative skills with faculty, staff and students in professional, research or educational settings. Will possess skills necessary to build, develop, lead and guide a basic medical sciences department at a new and developing medical school.
