Hi

I helped design a qualitative/quantitative research methods grad course a few years ago.....not in office this week....but will look thru my stuff next week

I do remember that we used some papers that read like cohort studies but weren't when you dug into th methodology

I'm teaching a Tests and Measurements in Psychology course (advanced
undergraduate) using TBL. We may have some similarities, though I'm not
sure how helpful I would be on the RATs since those are so specific to the
exact course content you want to cover. My course is designed to complement
a Research Methods course, also required in our curriculum.

Subject: Designing Undergrad Social Science Research Methods Course

Dear TBL colleagues,

I'm designing a TBL approach to undergrad research methods for the social
sciences (anthro/soc/geo) for this fall. I have planned out most everything
except I need to develop iRATs/tRATs for the units -- for sampling,
reliability/validity, levels and types of measurement, protocol design
(writing good survey and interview questions), survey and interview design
and admin, and quant data analysis (univariate and bivariate).

Has anyone developed such a course, and, if so, would you be willing to help
me especially with the RATs?

Thank you in advance, Sarah Mahler [log in to unmask]
