You might consider looking beyond the board pass rates; at other relevant literature related to practice preparation. The current movement is that healthcare professionals should be educated so that they can perform as part of the healthcare team. I see TBL becoming even more important with a greater emphasis being placed on inter-professional education. The Core Competencies for Inter-professional Collaborative Practice might be of interest to you.

You may consider collecting other program outcome data (such as student perception of educational preparation for practice).

Subject: I need help

I am trying to convince people here that TBL is a good thing. We have been using PBL for years. The data continue to show that PBL does not have any measurable effects, plus or minus on board scores.

Do any of you have or are aware of data showing that TBL improves performance on either boards part 1 or 2?

Thanks,

Kurtis
