Dear Colleagues,
We're pleased to announce that the next Vancouver Island Team-Based Learning Institute<https://wordpress.viu.ca/ciel/increase-student-engagement-and-persistence-with-team-based-course-design/> will take place in August 2023. If you or other faculty members at your institution are looking for an opportunity to learn TBL, and you would enjoy doing so while working collaboratively with other instructors from across Canada and the US, we invite you to join us.
What: 2023 Vancouver Island Team-Based Learning Institute<https://wordpress.viu.ca/ciel/increase-student-engagement-and-persistence-with-team-based-course-design/>. (The TBL Institute is a small format gathering, providing a hands-on learning experience for faculty wishing to adopt the TBL Model as presented by Michaelsen, Knight and Fink in Team-Based Learning: A Transformative Use of Small Groups)
When: August 15-16-17, 2023
Where: The campus of Vancouver Island University<https://www.viu.ca/> in Nanaimo, BC<https://tourismnanaimo.com/>
Imagine a classroom where...students always come prepared because they know that their contributions during in-class assignments will be consequential. They know they'll be expected to participate, and they know their peers will be there to work with them. They look forward to class because they own the learning objectives and process.
Tine Reimers, Bill Roberson, and Jessica Gemella of Vancouver Island University will be your hosts and facilitators for the 2023 Vancouver Island Team-Based Learning Institute.
For more information, please visit our web page at: https://wordpress.viu.ca/ciel/increase-student-engagement-and-persistence-with-team-based-course-design/

If you have questions, please contact Tine Reimers at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
Hope to see you in August!
