Hello TBL folks,

I am looking for colleagues who are using (or have used) TBL in their History classrooms (or perhaps Humanities more broadly) in a post-secondary context, especially in Canada. I am thinking about coordinating a panel for the Canadian Historical Association annual meeting, which will be held online again in 2022 (May 16-18).

If you are interested, or know someone who might be, please let me know!

Thanks,

Derek

A little more context: I ran a research project in the spring semester 2020 where I taught one class with TBL and another (same learning outcomes, different content) using a more traditional pedagogy. I collected data on student engagement and achievement and will use that data to analyze the impact of TBL in the classroom. Of course, COVID happened in the middle of the project, so I am now also including an analysis of the impact of TBL on the transition to remote learning in the context of a global pandemic. I hope to eventually publish the results, but would love to start with a conversation with other practitioners in History.

One of the conference streams for the CHA 2022 meeting is Pedagogy and History Education. More details about the conference can be found here: https://cha-shc.ca/english/what-we-do/annual-meeting/annual-meeting.html
