Hi Terri, I always assign readings for my classes. However, I started
giving my undergraduate students a sheet of paper with "must knows" to help
guide their reading and help improve the the RAT scores..

My students commented on the fact that they depended on PowerPoints to
guide the reading or the PowerPoints became the only reading.so they were
clueless on how to read a chapter. I also shortened my reading assignments.
I didn't assign a number of long chapters which is the practice of a lot of
faculty. :-) including myself until I noticed the length of the reading
assignments
My students liked the "must knows"
