We had been using the Response Interwrite clicker system to collect (and
grade) responses to 25-question multiple choice iRAT tests. We had
inserted the IFAT answer codes into Response. So, when we got to an iRAT
(made with the on-line IFAT Test Maker) we simply indicated which IFAT
answer sheet that Response was to use. Students had the hard copy of the
iRAT before them; they just used the "homework, self-paced" mode on the
Response clicker. Students would also mark their paper copies, taking
them to the Team to do the tRAT and the scratch-off on the IFAT form. We
collected the hard copies and the completed IFAT forms. It worked great.
How does one accomplish getting the iRAT responses as input, and automatic
grading of same, using the iClicker system, and iClicker2 input devices?
My University just switched to iClicker this past fall semester, and this
is the first time I will be using it, now this spring semester. It seems
iClicker has nothing equivalent to a "self-paced, homework" type mode.
I guess one has to enter each question as a PowerPoint slide (using a PC
and Microsoft Office) , and then show the slide to the entire class at the
same time, with students entering answers this way? Also, I guess one
has to somehow use the "Question List" feature and somehow associate it
with these PowerPoint slide based questions?
Would really appreciate some help... classes start next week, and am
facing a learning curve for an entirely new clicker system... and how to
integrate it with the TBL iRAT process.
Thanks.
