Yes, we’ve done it too.  It hasn’t affected the team testing element.  We start the individual test for those needing extra time about half an hour ahead of the others; this gives them time to rejoin their teams (often across the campus!).  It has worked well – this has also included students requiring a reader as well as extra time.

Yes, I've done it - the student had to take it ahead of coming to class. She then took the test with her team in class. It didn't appear to impact the team process too much, from what I could tell... I had a blind student last semester, and sent it to her before class, she would send me her answers that I put onto an answer sheet, and again, she worked with her team in class. I gave the team her answer sheet in case she needed to remember her specific answer. Didn't seem to bother them either. Forced me to not wait until the last minute to tweak tests. Both of these are Undergraduate courses...

Hello,



Hope all are well! Have any of you ever had students with special testing needs in your classes? I’m using team-based learning this semester and I have a student who has to do her tests in the disability offices. I feel like it’s definitely going to impact the process with her team.



For those that have experienced this--how have you handled this?
