There is an op-ed in today's New York Times:

Diversity Makes You Brighter

By SHEEN S. LEVINE and DAVID STARK, DEC. 9, 2015

The authors found that ethnically diverse groups made better decisions
about a specific problem.

This group might be in a position to identify learning benefits of
diversity using standard methods of team assignment and the problem solving
activities of teams.
