Subject: From Refugee to UBC - Chan Concert for Peace Invitation
Dear Dr. Katherine Bowers,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Victoria. I am the Advisory Director for Thrive
Refuge - a student-led non-profit organization in Vancouver. Last year, we helped Sasha - an Ukrainian teen pianist - escape the Russo-Ukrainian War through our bursary program with IssofBC. He is now studying at the UBC School of Music under Dr. David
Fung.
Sasha is hosting a Concert for Peace on April 12th at 6:00 pm at the UBC Chan Centre to play piano to raise funds for other incoming refugees. I
am reaching out to see if you would be open to attend and encourage interested UBC groups, students, or faculty to attend this meaningful event.
I have attached our printable event poster and ticket link below. Sasha’s
story is incredible. We hope to see UBC's community come together for a meaningful cause!
Best,
Victoria
