Applications are being accepted for the Susan M. Hicks Award for Graduate Research on Eurasia. All UBC Faculty of Arts graduate students planning to conduct research related to Eurasia, broadly defined as the regions of the former Soviet Union and neighbouring countries shaped by the legacy of state socialism, are eligible to apply for the award (normally $500-$1000). Applications for direct research expenses, especially field research, are preferred.
Applicants should submit a CV and a one page statement that outlines the project for which funding is sought. The statement should clearly indicate: 1) how the proposed project relates to the larger program of graduate study; 2) what the award would specifically support, e.g. airfare, supplies, etc.; 3) contact information for the applicant; and 4) contact information for the applicant’s graduate supervisor.Applications are due by **May 12** and the award will be announced by early June.
