Some of you might find this article interesting:
Buhl-Wiggers, J., la Cour, L. & Kjærgaard, A.L. Insights from a randomized controlled trial of flipped classroom on academic achievement: the challenge of student resistance. Int J Educ Technol High Educ 20, 41 (2023). https://doi.org/10.1186/s41239-023-00413-6
I wrote a short response to it on my blog:
Basically, it seems to me, as many of you already know, that many of the issues that instructors face with active learning such as flipping the classroom are addressed by Team-Based Learning. Our fellow educators just need to drink the Kool-Aid and come to this realization. Sometimes it really feels to me like instructors just need to jump into the deep end of the swimming pool to see the light.
😀
But then I am a long time convert to TBL. 😉
I hope all of you are having a restful summer.
Cheers
Neil
