Dear colleagues,
Michelle Clark and I will be running a workshop at the upcoming TBLC Annual Conference (March 2017) on "Getting student buy in and engagement with TBL or “flipped classes”. More than 100 educators are already using an "orientation kit" that we have put together to use to start their courses. They have found that this approach really works to develop a positive and productive learning culture that is sustained during the whole course.
Perhaps we might see you at the conference?
By the way, this workshop has been conducted at several other international conferences, and is described in the paper: Balan, P., Clark, M. & Restall, G. 2015, 'Preparing students for Flipped or Team-Based Learning methods', Education + Training, vol. 57, no. 6, pp. 639-657.

We’re interested in what happens at other institutions with respect to TBLs in the curriculum. What proportion of TBLs for new material are preceded by a lecture presentation with a syllabus versus online videos versus reading text? Is there any difference in student acceptance?
