Hi all,

I am writing my dissertation on TBL. There's something that I stumbled upon and wonder if anyone would be able to provide some insights.

If we looked at the publication on TBL, you might have noticed that most, if not all, publications before 2002, refer TBL as "team learning". This includes publications by Larry Michaelsen and his colleagues, as well as the early TBL publications in medical education.

In fact up until 2004, after Michaelsen, Knight and Fink had published their book first book on TBL in 2002, I still find literature that refers to TBL as "team learning".

My question is when did "team learning" become 'officially' accepted as Team-Based Learning in educational research? Is the first book on TBL the trigger? Would you say that medical education research is the driver for the acceptance of the term "TBL"?

Thank you very much for reading.

Best regards,

Fun Siong (note: both words are my first name)
