Biomedical Science Faculty, Summerlin Campus

 

The Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Medicine invites applications to join the faculty of the Department of Biomedical Sciences to both design and deliver the medical curriculum. The College of Medicine is an LCME-applicant school seeking preliminary accreditation to welcome a charter class in 2017.The college aims to improve the health of the communities in Southern Nevada and the Intermountain West by educating competent, caring and ethical physicians using the Roseman mastery learning model; conducting biomedical, clinical, educational and translational research that advances solutions to the health care needs of the communities that Roseman serves; providing quality patient-centered care and service to our partner communities.

 

We seek faculty at all ranks who can contribute to the development and delivery of a medical curriculum following Roseman’s unique mastery model that has led to our success in Pharmacy, Nursing, and Dental Medicine education, and can contribute to the process leading to and maintaining accreditation. The College of Medicine is being created on the Summerlin campus which includes two buildings with over 300,000 square feet of space that are already equipped for state of the art research, teaching, and clinical care.

 

Biomedical faculty are being sought with expertise in the disciplines of

·       behavioral science

·       biochemistry

·       bioethics

·       genetics

·       molecular biology

·       neuroscience

·       nutrition

·       public health

 

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent terminal degree in the biomedical sciences; record of scholarship (including abstracts, publications and presentations); success as a biomedical science educator; and experience with development and delivery of curriculum in the medical school or graduate school arenas.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching in a medical school program using methodologies such as team-based learning, problem-based learning, and simulation; participation in national organizations or committees devoted to biomedical and/or medical education.

 

Additional qualifications for applicants with research programs: History or potential for extramural funding, strong publication record, and experience mentoring research students. Established research projects in the focus areas of Roseman University (cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases and obesity) are most desirable.

 

The time and effort committed to the service, education, and research missions will be negotiated alongside the rank, based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
