At first blush it appears that this course would benefit from simulation pedagogy - formative OSCE's, for example. Portions of the curricula could benefit from TBL, but OSCE's seem most pertinent. Good critical review of the method here:

Subject: Re: TBL with a Clinical Skills Class

Thats a hard one

Could you use modified version of hot seat....students in each team could sequential complete steps...with hot seat draw picking who does next step....that might work for the psychomotor skills

The selecting/using scenarios might be easier....students could get patient file with all sorts of history and messy notes...and few different selection scenarios that teams could sort through and select best/most appropriate

These are my guesses....since I am no expert in your discipline :-)

I have one more class I want to convert to TBL, but I'm not exactly sure how. This class is a clinical skills class for occupational therapy students. It involves theory and skills such as: taking blood pressure, transferring patients, selecting and using mobility equipment.

How do I setup the application exercises to address the many types of equipment and their uses?

Thanks,
