Hi Sandra,
Here is the citation for the review Paul Haidet, Karla Kubitz and I wrote: Haidet P, Kubitz K, McCormack WT. 2014. Analysis of the Team-Based Learning Literature: TBL Comes of Age. Journal on Excellence in College
Teaching 25(3&4):303-333.
Please see the appendix for a summary of the content of 40 TBL research articles, including the educational context, evaluation strategy and summary of results. I hope this is helpful for your student.
Best regards,
Wayne

While not a robust research article, it does review the literature to date and gives a fairly good argument supporting the role of TBL in enhancing student performance, if not student attitudes.
Wayne McCormack has another review which he either just published or is in press and may be a little better. I have cc’d him as well.

Colleagues,
My graduate student’s thesis is on the effectiveness of TBL in a large undergraduate science classroom (240 students) to increase content learning, improve attitudes toward teamwork, and promote higher order thinking skills. She has been
asked to present a review of a research article on this topic to the faculty and graduate students in the Department of Biology. We are searching for an appropriate recently published article which has robust research into both student achievement and attitudes
when using TBL in the undergraduate science classroom. This audience will be all professional scientists and unused to the genre’ of science education research, so we want to select the most well-designed and executed study for the review. Any suggestions?
Best regards, Sandra
