I participated in a workshop on active learning classrooms in Montreal during the STLHE conference there a couple of years ago and found it very informative for thinking about not just TBL classroom configurations but classroom configurations for a variety of active learning approaches. I believe workshop presenters were from McGill U, Dawson College and Champlain College in Montreal.

Anyways, really interesting examples of active learning classrooms that run the gamut from super expensive to relatively cheap.

At University of Colorado, we recently launched TBL as the pedagogy for IPE education across our campus. In addition to faculty development on the method (most facilitators had never been exposed), we offered peer observation and feedback and used the attached coaching form. Wendy Madigosky and Nichole Zehnder cc’d above were the primary movers for development of this form.
