Hi Tom,
I use the attached form for my peer evaluations. Over the course of the semester, I have many graded team activities (as well as many ungraded activities). The team portion of each students grade is a weighted function of the graded team
activities and team RATs multiplied by the average peer evaluation score (8=80%). For example, the weighted team grade based on tRATs and activities might be 90%. Someone who averaged 9 points on the peer evaluation gets 81% for the team portion of his/her
grade. Someone who gets 11 gets 99% for the team portion of his/her grade, with a max of 100%. Other instructors use the peer evaluation as an explicit component of the grade (counting for say, 15% of a student’s overall grade) rather than to weight the
team portion of the grade. I’ve used both over the years but prefer to weight the team score overall by the peer evaluation. I do make some subjective adjustments, but not often. For example, if one person on a team rates someone significantly lower than
everyone else did, I suspect there might be a personal issue there (and I’m usually already aware of such) and consider the score without that one low evaluation.
I hope that helps.

Subject: Peer Evaluation Form
I am almost through my first semester with TBL and it has been one hell of a lot of work; I am hoping next semester will be easier now I have things set up. However, I am stuck on the peer evaluation forms. I just don't get it. If I have
a seven-member team and the team evaluation score is worth 10% of the overall course grade I would ask them to distribute 60 points across the members. But then what do I do?
In DRAFT1 attached are the names in a seven-member team. I would ask them to distribute 60 points. Okay, they do this as in DRAFT2, but now what do I do. Sally has 90 points - does this mean she only gets 9 out of 10 for the team evaluation
component? Does this mean no one can 10 out of 10? Something is wrong here.
