Nick:

I am going to offer some armchair general advice because I have not
implemented TBL in an A&P class. I think you could have incredible
flexibility with the formation of big units out of chapters since so many
of the body systems are interconnected. I would probably go for a support
and movement unit (skeleton/muscle), uptake and transport
(respiratory/circulatory/digestive), etc. What goes under each umbrella
unit theme could change depending on what you want to emphasize. You could
concentrate on motor neurons and include the nervous system under my
support and movement unit for example. The real challenge is whittling
each chapter down to fit your "doing" goals during backward course design.
Those are my untested, untried thoughts anyway. :)

I do a comparative anatomy course and have been thinking about ways to
integrate TBL into the anatomy lab. Do you use TBL in your A&P lab too?
