For TBL in our Therapeutics course: If the absence is excused (communicates prior to class and misses class for a valid reason), the absence is "excused" - if absent on the day of a RAT, then the student is given the class mean score for the IRAT, and the same GRAT score as the group...if miss an AE, then only need to find out what was discussed in class...if absence is "unexcused" then zero scores for RATs

Subject: What to do when they miss...

I have a question for the group. Every year, we have students miss TBL sessions because of illness or being out of town for conferences. Because there are very few mandatory experiences at our school (outside of exams, almost none), students do not, and sometimes cannot, avoid missing sessions.

 

How are absences handled?
