I am teaching my first TBL course this semester and I am trying to finish writing my course syllabus. What do you tell your students about their responsibility to report cheating by teammates? Do you hold the entire team responsible for what they claim is cheating by only one team member? What do you write in your course syllabus about group responsibility for individual cheating? As context, I will not be allowing use of resources (e.g., written notes, electronic devices, other teams' discussions or answers) during tRATS. Obviously, cheating by one student benefits all members of the team and it seems unlikely that one student could use a phone, computer, or written notes during team discussion without teammates knowing about it.
