Hello Jasminka,

As a new instructor with little time to develop my own AE's I ended up adapting a set of existing collaborative group exercises in my principles of econ courses from a workbook titled "Economics Live! Learning Economics the Collaborative Way" by Diane Keenan and Mark H. Maier (McGraw Hill, ISBN 0-07-812646-0).  Modifying the exercises so they demonstrate the TBL 4-S's takes some creativity, but is possible.  The other exercises I use were inspired by other "active" learning literature I found.  I would love to join in the sharing of econ AE's.

Best,
Eddy

Dear All,

I have recently started using TBL elements in my econ classes (principles of micro and macro and intermediate macro).  I formed permanent teams, used application exercises and peer evaluation. It worked relatively well and the part I feel need to develop better is application exercises. I ended up giving mainly multiple choice questions but would like to give more complex questions while following 4 Ss. Would anyone be ready to share an application for any of your econ courses (I’d like to go with it in my Intro to trade course this semester, too) or give more guidance where to go for them?

Thanks a lot.

Jasminka
