Me, too, wishing there was an IF AT in an
electronic form... for use both with clickers in class, and especially for use
in on-line, distance ed teaching (am teaching a distance ed course, and would
like to try TBL in that realm).

What I would now like is an electronic IF-AT process that can use the clickers
- instant feedback, variable scoring, and able to adjust according to the
actual answers that we have - rather than doing a coding sheet for the various
forms.

Am curious as to why scanners are being used rather than clickers? Pros
and cons? We, for the first time last spring, used the "homework"
feature (i.e. students enter their RAT answers during class as an in-class
homework) of the PRS Response clicker system, and it works great, in a
class of 50-students. Instant grading by the computer, and a gradebook
produced automatically in Excel format. Also, no Departmental/teaching
budget cost: Students already have the clickers, because they are being
used on campus in the larger general ed courses (like chemistry).

The Apperson scanner are inexpensive and work great.....we can easily scan
160 tests while the students are doing the team test (probably could score
500-600 in the time)
I like that you don't have to attach it to a computer in class....we print
tally and item analysis cards right after scanning and have the aggregate
results to inform our mini-lecture....and office rescans the forms later to
generate the excel
I just order my fifth scanner for my Faculty
Haven't tried their new Apperson scanner with a feeder....would be more
convenient...but uses different forms than the Advantage scanners I already
have
