I did a pretty thorough examination of the calibrated peer review system a few years ago. At the time, it was not ADA compliant (which means we can't use it). Also students were required to upload their work to the CPR servers (at UCLA) which we can't require them to do because of FIRPA (federal privacy laws). Do you know if those things are still true? -M ________________________________________ From: Team-Based Learning [[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Sibley, Jim [[log in to unmask]] Sent: Thursday, May 14, 2009 12:41 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: using "Blackboard" for peer evaluations If you are interested in peer review of writing you might check out turn-it-in’s peer review and Linda Nilsons article “Making Student Feedback Helpful” The calibrated peer review is a good idea but has a fairly onerous calibration step that the students MUST complete every go through jim ________________________________ From: Team-Based Learning [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Kubitz, Karla Sent: Thursday, May 14, 2009 10:33 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: using "Blackboard" for peer evaluations Hi all, I’ve been following the discussion regarding peer reviewing activities and thought I’d mention the Calibrated Peer Review site (link below). For those interested in having students do peer reviews (of student essays), it provides a nice alternative to Blackboard’s peer review tool.
