Hi

We are getting ready to try TBL in a Mechanical Design class of 120 students.

Does anyone have some examples of RAT's and Application Assignments that they have used.....for engineering, math or the sciences? or can recommend someone who has used TBL in these disciplines.

We are struggling a bit with how to integrate the typically calculation centric nature of the subject...with the make a choice or make a list type exercises.

We......might??..... focus on the applicability of certain calculations to steps in the design process, the estimate that are necessary and assumption that are implicit with some equations and the role of personal choice and it effect on solving a design problem......identify failure points in designs??

I would be very grateful for any suggestion, direction or resources.

Thanks

Jim

** PS: I have enjoyed the high quality of the discussions on this list
