Judi,

I use TBL to teach my Aviation Business courses at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Happy to connect with your colleague if that would help. I can share the results I have had with TBL versus other teaching in a business context and what I have done with TBL in some traditional business communications topics such as resumes and cover letters.

Personally, I would think the most compelling approach is to take the interview/selection criteria for one of the top employers at the school or the World Economic Forum's list of future skills (http://reports.weforum.org/future-of-jobs-2016/shareable-infographics/) and do a comparison with traditional lecture versus TBL at developing the skills that employers want. I find that TBL usually helps with 4-6 of the key skills (complex problem solving, critical thinking, people management, coordinating with others, judgement and decision making and negotiation) versus straight lecture that has usually can only help one or zero key skills. I am doing a presentation on this at an upcoming ACBSP conference that I can share when it is finished.

Kind regards,

Brian

Subject: Contact person at Duke Medical School in Singapore??

I have a colleague in Japan who (a) knows about TBL and (b) is going to Singapore. Having heard about the effective use of TBL in the Duke medical school there, he would like to arrange a visit while in Singapore.

*Question*: Does anyone know who a good contact there would be?

Many thanks, Dee Fink

Subject: Which Business Schools Use TBL?

I have a colleague who is interested in implementing TBL into a Business Communication course that she is being asked to design. To "sell it," it would be helpful to know specifically which Business Schools are using TBL.

Thanks for your help!

Subject: My Request Regarding TBL in Singapore - MANY THANKS

Earlier today, I asked for the name of a good contact person at the Medical School in Singapore that uses TBL.

In just a few hours, many of you let me know that that person would be Sandy Cook.

I have passed this information on to my contact in Japan.

MANY thanks for the quick response!!

My Best, Dee Fink
