Hi Amer,

I teach aviation business in Singapore which is slightly different, but it is a pretty global industry. A few ideas follow below.

1. Application examples. My latest TBL workshop presentation is available at the following link. Pages 52 to 63 have examples of application exercises. I think you could adapt the M&A example to other international business expansion decisions:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mtabmgwdwz8pctw/TBL%20Workshop%202018%2004%2027%20FINAL.pdf?dl=0

2. Specific ideas:

2.1 Commonwealth Bank of Australia is considering expanding into the aircraft leasing market in China, rank order the top three risks of the expansion.

2.2 After discussing 2.1; the board has determined that the biggest risk is X; please develop a plan to mitigate this risk

2.3 The board had decided to pursue the expansion in China, which strategy should they pursue?

A. Organic

B. Joint venture

C. Acquisition

I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards,

Brian

Subject: Application exercises for a course on Global Business Context

Hi everyone,

Has anyone designed a business course on Global Business Context using TBL? I am teaching a course that looks at the impact of the social, political,, economic, technological and cultural environment on multinational/internationalizing businesses. I am converting the course into a TBL design. If you have something similar, I would really appreciate if you could share some application exercises or take home assignments that you have designed. I am not going to steal your exercises, as I only want to see how you structure it.

Thanks and regards

Amer
