Hello everyone,
I have an opportunity to "borrow" classes of education majors and other
majors who are getting teaching licenses here in Japan from two other
universities to do 90 minute TBL presentations. My first attempt at
using TBL will begin in my own class in October with a class of 120.
I'd like to use these "borrowed" classes as a way to collect some data
on Japanese students' reactions to the concept of TBL. Generally,
Japanese students come from a background of almost exclusively didactic
lessons from 7th grade (Jr. High School) on into university.

After introducing TBL as a teaching strategy, I want to collect data
through a survey. I'm wondering if anyone has ever done a similar
survey and if they would share their survey questions. If not,
suggestions on some good questions to ask would be very helpful. I
expect much of the same reticence that teachers in other countries have
experienced, so I want to be prepared. I'd also like to be able to show
my data to my boss and say, "I'm going into this with my eyes wide open,
so support me please!"

Thanks always for your excellent input.

Regards,
Christine
