I had a very similar team conflict this year. Similar conflict and similar ages. I offered to sit with the team to help with communication. I did and that helped for awhile. The same issue arose later in the semester and the student took it upon herself to share her frustrations with the whole team. That also helped and the team kept working together. Ultimately, over Christmas break (our teams are together for 2 years) the student who initially "stormed" out received some personal counseling and that seems to have helped her the most.

I think we ask a great deal of our students when we put them into teams and we must find ways to teach team building skills as well as the content the students are learning.
