I've used the group tool on Bb so they can contact each other between classes, if need be - many know first, but not last, names...but you are definitely not alone - reminds me of my own children in grade school when they had a new "best" friend but didn't know their name!...It is sort of stunning, though.

We post a list in Blackboard....one list sorted by student number...other by
team number with student names

Students also can see their teammates in the online peer evaluation system
we use


Our classes are 120-180....see we form teams from blackboard survey results
and announce them in class and post them in Blackboard
