Maybe everyone knows about this but (while looking for math help for my 9 year old) I just stumbled upon Salman Khan's website and this TED talk:

http://www.ted.com/talks/salman_khan_let_s_use_video_to_reinvent_education.html

As someone who uses a blend of technology (online interactive case-based modules) and classroom based TBL the underlying philosophy resonates with me and I thought perhaps with the listserve particularly the comment:

(he) "calls for teachers to consider flipping the traditional classroom script -- give students video lectures to watch at home, and do "homework" in the classroom with the teacher available to help."
