Hi all.

I have heard many times that optimum team size in online TBL classes should be smaller than the 5-7 students recommended for ftf classes.

The learntbl.ca site mentions this. The admonition featured prominently in a team-based learning webinar on teaching online a couple years ago.

I find this plausible and use teams of four in my online classes.

I am trying to track down published research that publishes this "rule of thumb."

Does anyone know of an article that addresses this question? Would you share the citation with me?

Thank you,

Phil
