Not exactly a TBL question, but could use some opinions.
We will implement computer based exams this fall. Students will take the
exam on their own device. We are using ExamSoft.
Our concern is mostly how to ensure test security. We have 140 students in
a lecture hall. How do folks handle ³checking in² on the student to make
sure the test is submitted and cannot be altered before the student leaves?
After submission, a big green box shows on studentıs screen to show they
have submitted and cannot access the exam anymore. We have considered
having the student show us the screen and check off a roster, or simply
showing us the screen without checking anything off. But we are concerned
that a student could, while we are distracted by a student question or a
long line of ³checkouts², simply take their device outside the class, look
something up, and either come back in to complete or submit the test from
the lobby.
Any advice?
Thanks,
John Mark
