I have made online modules using very simple platform such as this:

Students are expected to complete prior to class and they either contain content that is testable on RAT or present cases that will be discussed in more detail in application exercise such as this one:

Students get both the 'start' of the cases as well as a framework that I use in class in the application exercises. The motivated among them can therefore prepare for the cases, although some material is held back. It also gives me a nice way to present images and sometimes video hard for everyone to see well in class - they get better view on their own computer screens.

If I may borrow form the young folks, "OMG!" I just saw this and thought the same thing. In the past, I've done "pre lectures" for my Human Growth and Development Course using Jing. These are little 5 minute videos featuring powerpoint and my voice over that kind of guides them what to pay attention to in the readings. In thinking of how to apply the Khan Academy model I could also do the post lectures but I would need to devise a way to make sure they viewed them.

As someone who uses a blend of technology (online interactive case-based modules) and classroom based TBL the underlying philosophy resonates with me and I thought perhaps with the listserve particularly the comment:
